Recap: 35th Oregon Mid-Amateur Championship

By Oregon Golf Association

Congratulations to Conner Kumpula (-4) and Krissy Carman (-6) for winning the 35th Oregon Mid-Amateur Championship at Astoria Golf and Country Club. Conner bested Brandon Mader after two playoff holes – making a 3 on the 2nd hole to take home the title while Krissy won by 7, finishing as the only female under par for the event.

Krissy previously won the 2016 Oregon Amateur and is no stranger to this event, finishing runner up to Amanda Jacobs in 2022. She attended both Oregon State and Portland State Universities.

Conner also went to Oregon State and went pro shortly after college, but recently had his amateur status reinstated. He is also familiar with OGA events, previously winning the 2014 Oregon Stroke Play at Juniper Golf Course in Redmond – which was the last time Juniper held the event and also the site of this year’s Oregon Stroke Play.

Weather conditions were typical for the Oregon coast – cool temperatures and breezy for both rounds.

Thank you to our competitors, volunteers, and especially Astoria Golf and Country Club for hosting the event.
