The weather continued to cooperate as temperatures topped out around 83 degrees, resulting in a long and grueling day for many competitors. Onto the recap...

Morning - Women's Bracket:

- Word on the grounds is that taking medalist honors during the stroke play of the competition is bad luck. Unfortunately for Brady Turnquist, that held true as Tracy Rigby of Vancouver, Washington defeated Turnquist 2&1. Rigby, the 32 seed advances to the round of 16 and faces Elli Gordon of Redmond. Note: Rigby's daughter and fellow competitor Alyssa also advanced to match play while her son Alexander competed in the Men's field.

- Other top seeds were also challenged on the first day of match play as past champions Monica Vaughn Fisher and Krissy Carman both went the distance, winning their matches 1up on the 18th hole.

- Defending champ Zach Foushee was also challenged as he needed 19 holes to take down Bryan White. White is a familiar face on the OGA Tour and is the reigning 2023 OGA Tour Champion.
- Another top seed, Sam Renner was taken to 20 holes before ultimately defeating JC Riter, who is a member at OLCC and who advanced out of the 7 for 4 playoff Wednesday morning.
- The last match on the course was Nigel Lett and Seth King. Lett made a 30 foot putt from the fringe to win and advance to the round of 32.

Round 2 of match play is underway with the remaining 32 Men and top 16 Women all teeing it up on Wednesday.
