Recap: 114th Oregon Amateur Championship, Day 4 & 40th Oregon Senior Women's Amateur Championship, Day 2

Day 4 is in the books for the both the Men and Women in the 114th Oregon Amateur Championship.

Zach Foushee continues his strong play in 2023, advancing to the quarterfinals by winning both of his matches on Thursday. Zach recently won the OGA Tournament of Champions and the Callaway Invitational, while also finishing Top 5 in the Royal Oaks Invitational Tournament.

Unfortunately, past defending champ Tye Gabriel and back-to-back runner up finisher Mateo Fuenmayor both fell in the round of 16.

In the Women's division, Jade Gruher knocked off defending champ and #1 seed Victoria Gailey on the 18th hole of their match to win 1 up. 

Other notable results included day 1 leader Franca Polla falling to Gretchen Johnson 2&1.

Both the Men and Women continue match play on Friday with both the quarter and semi-finals scheduled for play, leading into a 36-hole championship match on Saturday.

Meanwhile, day 2 of the 40th Oregon Senior Women’s Championship was completed on Thursday with the usual competitors advancing into the quarterfinals on Friday. Top seed Loree McKay and defending champ Lara Tennant both won their matches convincingly.

PNGA Hall of Famer, Mary Budke, also also advanced to the quarterfinal round, can she continue her strong play and advance to the championship round on Saturday?

The Senior Women also continue match play on Friday with both the quarter and semi-finals scheduled for play, leading to an 18-hole championship match on Saturday.
