The Oregon Golf Association is thrilled to announce the 2024 award winners, recognizing outstanding individuals and institutions who have made significant contributions to golf in Oregon. These winners embody the spirit of the game through their dedication, talent, and commitment to excellence.
OGA Member of the Year: David Lukens, Gearhart Golf Links
David Lukens joined Gearhart Golf Links in 2011 and quickly became a pillar of the club. From establishing guiding principles to mastering the intricacies of handicapping, David’s leadership has elevated the Gearhart Men’s Club to new heights. His commitment, infectious positivity, and collaborative spirit have made him a beloved figure and a deserving recipient of this award.
OGA Handicap Chair of the Year: Dave Sanders, Stone Creek Golf Club
Dave Sanders has been an integral part of the Stone Creek Men’s Club for 14 years, bringing a passion for fairness and detail to his role as Handicap Chair. Balancing a full-time career with his responsibilities, Dave has ensured the integrity of handicapping for a dynamic club of over 350 members. Known for his calm demeanor and dedication, Dave’s efforts have left a lasting impact on Stone Creek and beyond.
OGA Facility of the Year: Oswego Lake Country Club
Celebrating its centennial in 2024, Oswego Lake Country Club has been a cornerstone of Oregon golf. This year, the club hosted the Oregon Amateur Championship, showcasing its pristine conditions and community spirit. With a rich history and a forward-thinking renovation plan, Oswego Lake continues to blend tradition with innovation, solidifying its status as a premier golfing destination.
Men’s Player of the Year: Zachary Foushee, Langdon Farms Golf Club
Zachary Foushee dominated the 2024 competitive season with exceptional performances, including victories at the 115th Oregon Amateur Championship, the 79th OGA Tournament of Champions, and the Callaway Invitational. Foushee and his partner Robbie Ziegler earned Medalist honors at the 9th U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship, tying the 36-hole scoring record in the process. His consistency and determination have earned him well-deserved recognition as the Men’s Player of the Year.
Women’s Player of the Year: Lara Tennant, Waverley Country Club
Lara Tennant continues to inspire with her remarkable achievements on the senior women’s golf stage, including her record 8th consecutive Oregon Senior Women's Amateur Championship. From clinching titles at the Irish and Scottish Senior Women’s Open Championships to advancing in prestigious U.S. competitions, Lara’s exemplary play and sportsmanship make her a standout ambassador for the game.
Junior Boys’ Player of the Year: Jack Harrington, Portland Golf Club
Jack Harrington’s 2024 season has been exceptional, highlighted by earning Medalist honors at the 94th Oregon Junior Amateur Championship and victories at the Peter Jacobsen Junior Challenge and the Portland City Junior. His dedication and skill have distinguished him as a rising star in Oregon golf, paving the way for him to continue his amateur career at the University of Michigan during the 2025-2026 season.
Junior Girls’ Player of the Year: Madeleine Conser, Rock Creek Country Club
Madeleine Conser’s exceptional season included victories at the Eastern Oregon Junior, Central Willamette Junior, and the OSAA 2A State Finals. Her success at both local and national levels demonstrates her impressive talent and bright future in the sport.
