After a week of thrilling competition, the 117th Oregon Amateur Championship has crowned its champions. Nigel Lett captured his first Oregon Amateur title in a hard-fought 36-hole final, while Madeleine Conser claimed her first Oregon Amateur Championship. Both champions navigated a grueling stretch of quarterfinals, semifinals, and 36-hole finals at Riverside Golf & Country Club, where the fast greens, demanding layout, and relentless competition tested every facet of their games.
Men's Championship
Quarterfinals
The men's quarterfinals delivered a full slate of drama from the opening tee shots. In the marquee matchup of the round, the top two remaining seeds squared off as #6 seed Andy Yang took on #3 seed TingWei Chang. Yang grabbed a 1-up lead on the 16th hole, and after both players traded matching birdies on 17 and pars on 18, Yang held on for a hard-earned 1-up victory.
#31 seed Trey Tuyo wasted no time making a statement, racing out to a 4-up lead through just seven holes before controlling the match to close out a 3&1 victory over #7 seed Christian Harlow. #8 seed Nigel Lett and #33 seed Charles Hageman traded blows through the first nine holes before Lett shifted into another gear entirely, winning the 9th, 10th, 11th, 13th, and 14th holes to advance with a convincing 5&4 victory.
Perhaps the most remarkable run of the round continued from #60 seed Cohen Gladheim, the lowest remaining seed in the field. Gladheim seized the lead on the opening hole against Cade Stubbs and never surrendered it, playing the entire match without a single bogey to advance 5&4 and into the final four.
Semifinals
The semifinal matchups were both tightly contested affairs that came down to the wire. In the first match, Trey Tuyo and Andy Yang traded the lead back and forth throughout the round, each holding a 2-up advantage at various points. Tuyo led by 2 through 13 holes before Yang clawed back, winning the 14th and 16th to level the match heading to 17, where both players made birdie. On 18, Tuyo delivered the decisive blow, making birdie to secure a 1-up victory and a spot in the final.
The second semifinal was equally gripping. Cohen Gladheim burst out of the gates, building a 3-up lead through just three holes against Nigel Lett. Lett responded with a run of his own, winning the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 9th holes to flip the match and hold a 1-up lead at the turn. He never looked back, winning three more holes on the back nine to close out a 3&2 victory and advance to the 36-hole final.
Final: Lett Claims the Title
In the 36-hole championship final, the Oregon Amateur was set to crown a first-time champion. #8 seed Nigel Lett of Tualatin, Oregon faced off against #31 seed Trey Tuyo of Agoura Hills, Washington, two players who had battled through five matches and five days of competition to reach this moment.
The morning 18 was a closely contested affair. Both players were level through the first nine holes before Tuyo broke through, winning the 10th to take the lead. Lett answered emphatically, reeling off wins on the 14th, 15th, and 16th holes to move 2-up, before Tuyo took the 17th to trim the deficit. Lett headed to the lunch break holding a 1-up advantage.
After the break, Lett took control. He won the 5th and 9th holes of the afternoon round to build a 3-up lead with nine holes to play, then continued to apply pressure with wins on the 10th and 12th to stretch the lead further. Tuyo kept fighting, winning the 13th, but Lett closed the door with steady play down the stretch, halving the 14th and 15th holes to seal a 5&4 victory and his first Oregon Amateur Championship.
Congratulations to both Nigel and Trey on an exceptional week of golf. Lett's championship run included victories over six opponents across five days, and with his win, he has earned a spot in the 126th U.S. Amateur Championship at Merion Golf Club from August 10-16.

Women's Championship
Quarterfinals
The women's quarterfinals brought drama, clutch performances, and one of the most stunning comebacks of the entire championship. #1 seed Natalie Yen continued her dominant run, holding a 2-up lead at the turn against #9 seed Kaylie Bae before a birdie on the 10th stretched her advantage to 3-up. The players traded holes on the back nine, but Yen controlled the match from start to finish, advancing with a 2&1 victory.
#4 seed Madeleine Conser and #12 seed Hannah Wendorf faced off with Wendorf winning the opening hole, but Conser quickly found her footing, building a commanding 4-up lead at the turn. Playing near-flawless golf with just one bogey on her card all day, Conser advanced convincingly with a 6&5 victory.
The longest match of the round came from #2 seed Alyssa Rigby and #10 seed Claire Chung, a match where 12 of the 18 regulation holes were won by one player or the other. Despite all the action, the players were knotted at the end of 18. Rigby stepped up when it mattered most, making par on the 19th hole to advance.
The quarterfinal finish of the day, and arguably the week, belonged to #6 seed Jacinda Lee. Trailing #3 seed Yvonne Vinceri by 3-up midway through the round, Lee engineered a stunning comeback, winning the 15th, 16th, and 18th holes to complete the comeback and win 1-up in one of the most exciting matches of the championship.
Semifinals
In the first semifinal, #4 seed Madeleine Conser picked up right where she left off in the quarterfinals. Conser came out firing, making five birdies in the first eight holes to build a 3-up lead at the turn. #1 seed Natalie Yen gave a valiant effort on the back nine, pushing the match all the way to the 17th hole, but Conser held firm to advance with a 3&1 victory.
The second semifinal featured #2 seed Alyssa Rigby and #6 seed Jacinda Lee. Both players exchanged birdies early before Rigby took a 1-up lead at the turn. She then pulled away with birdies on the 10th and 11th holes to go 3-up, and added birdies on the 13th and 15th to secure her spot in the final with a convincing 4&3 victory.
Final: Conser Claims the Crown
The women's final brought together two familiar faces: #2 seed Alyssa Rigby and #4 seed Madeleine Conser, a rematch of the 2025 Oregon Junior Amateur final, where Conser had previously come out on top. Once again, the 117th Oregon Amateur was set to crown a first-time champion.
The opening 18 holes were fiercely contested. Both players halved the first five holes before Conser broke through, winning the 6th and 7th holes with birdies to take a 2-up lead. Rigby's birdie on the 10th cut the deficit in half, and the players continued to trade holes on the back nine. When the morning session concluded, Conser held a 2-up advantage heading into the lunch break.
Conser came out with purpose in the afternoon, winning the 19th and 20th holes of the match to push her lead to a commanding 4-up. Rigby won the 21st to stay in the match, and both players then halved the next several holes. Conser added to her lead with a birdie on the 13th hole to go 4-up with five holes to play. Rigby showed tremendous resilience, winning the 15th and 16th holes to make things interesting, but Conser held on with steady play to close out a 2&1 victory and claim her first Oregon Amateur Championship.
With her win, Madeleine Conser has earned an exemption into the 126th U.S. Women's Amateur Championship at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tennessee.
