The 96th Bob Norquist Oregon Junior Amateur is officially underway at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club's Ghost Creek Course in North Plains, Oregon, and stroke play qualifying is complete. Ghost Creek has provided a terrific championship test for the state's best junior talent, and the field is now set as we turn the page to match play. As a USGA exemption event, the winners will earn an exemption into the 2026 U.S. Junior Amateur and 2027 U.S. Girls' Junior Amateur Championships.
The OGA would like to thank Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club for hosting this prestigious event and continuing its commitment to junior golf in Oregon. Onto the recap.
Boy's Open Division
Christian Harlow (Class of 2029) turned in the low round of boys qualifying with an opening 69 (-2), showcasing the kind of ball-striking that has made him one of the state's top junior prospects. He backed it up with an even-par 71 in round two, finishing at 2-under par total. Defending champion Sevren Quinn (Class of 2027) matched that mark with consecutive rounds of 70 (-1) to set up a playoff for medalist honors. Harlow rose to the occasion, making birdie on the second playoff hole to claim the #1 seed heading into match play.
Davis Hartwell (Class of 2026) and Jordan Giles (Class of 2027) both posted matching rounds of 72 (+1) and 71 (E) to round out the top four seeds, rounding out a strong upper tier of the bracket heading into the week's match play portion.
The Boy's Open Division plays both the Round of 32 and Round of 16 on Tuesday, setting up quarterfinal and semifinal matches on Wednesday before the 18-hole final.
Girl's Open Division
Coming off her championship victory at the 117th Oregon Amateur Championship, Madeleine Conser (Class of 2027) delivered a performance that left the field in her wake. Rounds of 68 and 69 gave her a 5-under par total and a commanding 14-stroke margin over her nearest competitor, a dominant qualifying performance that has become something of a calling card for one of Oregon's premier junior competitors.
117th Oregon Amateur Championship runner-up Alyssa Rigby (Class of 2028) earned the #2 seed into match play with rounds of 76 and 75, finishing at 9-over par and positioning herself as the top challenger to Conser as the bracket takes shape.
The Girl's Open Division moves into the first round of match play Tuesday afternoon with the Round of 16, narrowing the field to eight. Quarterfinals and semifinals follow on Wednesday before the 18-hole final on Thursday.
Stay tuned for continuing coverage throughout the week as Oregon's best junior golfers compete for the title and a spot in the 2026 U.S. Junior Amateur and 2027 U.S. Girls' Junior Amateur Championships.
