According to their course history, Gearhart Golf Links started out as three holes of true links-style golf in about 1888. Records show that Gearhart Golf Links was formally established in 1892, giving it the historical distinction as The Oldest Golf Course West of the Mississippi River. From its inception, Gearhart has been a beacon for golfers seeking a unique and challenging golfing experience amidst the natural beauty of the Oregon coast long before Bandon Dunes Golf Resort was developed.
