Celebrating Excellence: The 2025 OGA Award Winners

Since 2004, the OGA has proudly recognized individuals, clubs, and facilities whose achievements and service exemplify the spirit of the game. Continuing that tradition, the OGA is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 OGA Annual Awards, honoring those whose leadership and dedication continue to elevate golf across Oregon.

From volunteers and leaders to top amateurs and iconic facilities, the 2025 OGA Award winners embody the passion and integrity that define Oregon golf. Congratulations to all our honorees for their outstanding achievements and continued commitment to the game.

2025-Handicap-Chair-Year-Terry-McEvillyOGA Handicap Chair of the Year: Terry McEvilly, Creekside Golf Club
Our 2025 Handicap Chair of the Year is Terry McEvilly of Creekside Golf Club in Salem. A longtime Rules of Golf expert, Terry has also served as Creekside’s Handicap Chair for sixteen years, earning a reputation as a leader who combines deep knowledge of the game with a thoughtful, player-first approach.

“Terry makes the life of a Golf Pro so much easier,” says Creekside’s Head Professional Danny Moore. “He helps in so many ways at the club—from Handicapping and Rules to Course Marking.” Terry’s steady leadership and commitment to fairness have strengthened Creekside’s Handicap Committee and reflect his belief that the World Handicap System “actually works quite well.”

2025-Member-Year-David-JacobsenOGA Member of the Year: David Jacobsen, Waverley Country Club
David Jacobsen has been named the 2025 OGA Member of the Year, recognizing his lifelong service and leadership in growing the game. A Portland native and fixture in the Northwest golf community, Jacobsen has dedicated more than four decades to volunteering, mentoring, and promoting the sport at every level.

In addition to serving on numerous USGA committees, Jacobsen helped create the Erling Jacobsen Tour in 1996—later evolving into the Jacobsen Youth Initiative, which introduced Youth on Course to Oregon. His vision has provided affordable golf access for thousands of juniors, leaving a legacy that continues to shape the future of the game.

The 2025 OGA Facility of the Year honor goes to Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, recognizing its extraordinary impact on Oregon golf and steadfast support of the OGA and OGA Junior Golf.

Bandon Dunes continues to set the standard for world-class golf experiences, environmental stewardship, and community engagement. Its Bandon Dunes Charitable Foundation directs proceeds toward conservation, education, housing, and youth golf programs across the South Coast—proving that great golf and great community impact can go hand in hand.

2025-Mens-Golfer-Year-Zach-FousheeMen’s Golfer of the Year: Zach Foushee
Zach Foushee has been named the 2025 OGA Men’s Golfer of the Year after a remarkable season that cemented his place among Oregon’s elite amateurs. Foushee captured the 116th Oregon Amateur Championship for the third consecutive year—becoming the first player since Frank Dolp in 1932 to do so. His season also included victories at the 80th OGA Tournament of Champions and the 2025 Callaway Invitational, along with a quarterfinal finish at the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship. He also earned medalist honors in Oregon Amateur qualifying and reached the semifinals of the 10th Oregon Four-Ball Championship, capping off a dominant year.

Kyra Ly earns the 2025 OGA Women’s Golfer of the Year title following a standout season highlighted by victory at the 116th Oregon Women’s Amateur Championship. She also reached the quarterfinals of the PNGA Women’s Amateur and advanced to the Round of 32 at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, showcasing her consistency and competitive edge at the highest levels.

2025-Boys-Golfer-Year-Cade-McVickerBoy’s Golfer of the Year: Cade McVicker
Cade McVicker’s 2025 season earns him the Boy’s Golfer of the Year honor after a string of impressive performances. He reached the semifinals of the PNGA Junior Boys Amateur, won the 57th Eddie Hogan Cup Team Matches (Individual Champion), and added titles at both the Portland City Bob Allard Memorial and Bob Norquist Oregon Junior Amateur (Medalist). His year reflects the growing strength of Oregon’s junior golf talent.

2025-Girls-Golfer-Year-Madeleine-ConserGirl’s Golfer of the Year: Madeleine Conser
Madeleine Conser is the 2025 OGA Girl’s Golfer of the Year after a dominant run that included victories at the Oregon Junior Amateur, PNGA Junior Girls Amateur, Peter Jacobsen Junior Challenge, and Central Willamette Junior. She also earned medalist honors at the Oregon Junior Amateur, advanced to the semifinals of the Oregon Women’s Amateur, and reached the Round of 64 at the U.S. Girls’ Junior Amateur, solidifying her place among the state’s top young competitors.
