Canby, Ore. – The Oregon Golf Association (OGA) celebrated its volunteers and their invaluable contributions during the 2025 OGA Volunteer Appreciation Day. These awards highlighted those who have gone above and beyond in their dedication to the organization.
This year, the Bill Worden Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Chonghee Suh, an exceptional and dedicated Rules Official. Recently appointed to the USGA National Committee, Chonghee has played a significant role in expanding the OGA’s presence in Rules education—delivering workshops to local OGA Member Clubs and mentoring volunteers pursuing Rules certification. In addition to her outreach efforts, she has officiated at numerous OGA Championships and Junior Golf Majors. Chonghee’s commitment to education, mentorship, and service in the Rules of Golf exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism within the OGA.
The OGA also recognized Christine Rowe, Tim Farrell, and Alan Fudge for their exemplary service as members of the OGA TAG Team and, in Tim’s case, as a dedicated course rating volunteer. Tim’s exceptional commitment to Course Rating has been invaluable, and his leadership in launching the new OGA Junior Golf Summer Series team leader initiative significantly enhanced program delivery. Alan demonstrated remarkable passion for junior golf and tournament administration, successfully managing five Summer Series events on his own and serving as a key leader within the Junior Summer Series team. Christine’s longstanding reliability and attention to detail have made her an indispensable volunteer, consistently ensuring accuracy and high-quality work for the OGA. Together, Tim, Christine, and Alan exemplify the spirit of volunteerism, and the OGA extends its sincere gratitude for their outstanding service in 2025.
