2024 OGA Volunteer Awards

Molalla, Ore. – The Oregon Golf Association (OGA) celebrated its volunteers and their invaluable contributions during the 2024 OGA Volunteer Appreciation Day. These awards highlighted those who have gone above and beyond in their dedication to the organization.

The prestigious OGA Distinguished Service Award was presented to Robin Hill. As an original TAG Team member, Robin's commitment has spanned over three decades. He served as a Rules Official, officiating junior and adult competitions every season for more than 35 years. Known for his distinctive British accent, Robin was a beloved starter and tireless promoter of the OGA and its tournaments. His passion for the game and the OGA was evident in every interaction, significantly raising the association's profile.

The Bill Worden Volunteer of the Year Award was given to the husband-and-wife team of Richard and Julia Warner. They were instrumental in creating a new structure for the OGA Junior Golf EJ Play Days, establishing a curriculum, a team of volunteers, and a communication process between the OGA and host facilities. Their dedication to junior golf and innovative approach exemplifies outstanding volunteerism.

Additionally, the OGA honored Perry Thompson and Ken Kadera for their efforts with the OGA TAG Team, and Nels Peterson and Sharon Lee-Peterson for their work as OGA course rating volunteers.

These awards recognize the exceptional dedication and commitment of OGA volunteers, whose efforts inspire others and foster a vibrant, inclusive golf community.
